Retro Shopping In San Antonio

 While a trip to IKEA is always fun, over the years I have grown a new appreciation for vintage furniture and housewares.  Grandma's Pyrex used to seem dated, but now it just has new life in a world of sameness.  After renovating a 1950's and now a 1970's house, these are my favorite places in San Antonio to find unique retro items. Architectural Antiques Salvage  This place is a treasure trove.  I love to just walk through and see what they have available.  A star shaped mount was missing from a mirror in my 1950's bathroom and this is where I found one to match.  It's located in the warehouse district on the eastside that is now seeing some gentrification.  If you are renovating a home and want to get it back to the era this is where you can find old doors, windows, wood board, and did I mention claw foot tubs?  They try to salvage what would otherwise be thrown away.  The owners are very friendly and will help you find wha...
